Would you like to know a little more about me?

I have worked in HR for nearly 30 years, across a wide range of industries. My early years were spent in the corporate world of law firms, banks and building societies seeing first hand how to deal with day to day HR issues and also what a difference the right processes and structures can make to the success of a business.
A little more than ten years ago I set up my own consultancy so I could support a wider variety of businesses and focus on the structures that lie beneath and behind the HR function - this is when my interest in HR Architecture really grew. Some HR people are fantastic at handling formal issues but I knew early on that was not where my skills lay. My expertise is clarity - creating a system from chaos and planning out the steps needed to reach your people and business goals.
Working for myself meant I could choose who to work with and in these years I worked in a number of fantastic organisations, charities and businesses. I experienced different sectors - arts, digital, manufacturing and retail. I delivered a range of significant projects from implementing new HR systems, creating shared service functionality, building HR strategies from the ground up and right sizing existing functions which had developed organically. My HR Project approach is now well developed.
For all of these my starting point is the same - “Show me everything” and I really mean that. 475 documents in a Dropbox is my ideal way to start a new project. I call it my Sponge Phase, taking it all in - every document you have in HR, contracts, letters and sickness forms plus business strategies and annual reports. I read it all before starting to sketch out systems and structures in my mind.
I work with you to understand your business and your plans before discussing options and agreeing the best way to resolve what we need.
Always in collaboration, always with your agreement and always bringing my personal brand of clarity to my work, my communication style and my end results.
